Press Release

The Truth Will Set you Free

For their first Canadian exhibition, The Connor Brothers present a selection of works from their renowned Pulp Fiction series alongside paintings from their current Penguin series. The title of the exhibition is a nod to the duo’s fascinating backstory where they initially presented The Connor Brothers as American twins who had escaped the Christian cult The Family. They describe working under the cover of anonymity as ‘both thrilling and a total ball ache’. When, after several years, the pair finally broke cover in a major feature in The Telegraph, it was a moment when the truth set them free to pursue other projects.

The Connor Brothers are amongst the most controversial and sought after contemporary artists working today, and have collaborated with other important cultural figures including Banksy, Pussy Riot and Swedish pop sensations Skitsnack. Their work, at once humorous and profound, can be found in major private and public collections worldwide.
