    ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Galerie LeRoyer is proud to present a new solo exhibition, ‘Spectral Serenade’, of the Chinese artist Zhuang Hong-Yi.

The exhibition explores Zhuang Hong-Yi’s unique approach to colour, perception, and affective experience through his landscapes of rice paper textures. The exhibition showcases vibrant, colour-shifting flowerbeds that reflect a rich interplay of cultural discourses; with the lotus flower at the core of Zhuang’s expression as both gentle yet persevering symbol of equilibrium and a reminder of our interrelated existence with nature.

As environments in constant flux - always moving yet presented in a perfect stillness - the artworks engulf the viewer as part and parcel of the art’s dynamic nature, its enunciation. Through a visual journey of hues, curves, and shimmerings that bridges continents and cultures, Zhuang Hong-Yi’s artworks move along songlike motions of a constantly evolving dialogue to reveal a universal expression of colour and form.

"Spectral Serenade" delves into Zhuang Hong-Yi’s exploration of color transitions and perception. Utilizing a spectrum of hues, Yi illustrates how colors can evoke varied emotional responses and alter our perceptions of space and form. Each piece invites contemplation, transforming the act of viewing into an exploration of the self and the surrounding world.

"Spectral Serenade" situates Zhuang Hong-Yi alongside contemporaries like Olafur Eliasson and Anish Kapoor, who similarly manipulate materiality to alter perception. In this new collection, color transitions are not merely aesthetic choices but powerful tools that allow the artist to push the envelope of contemporary art, forging new pathways for emotional and intellectual engagement.
