Nicolas Lemieux has designed an enormous project which is divided into several parts, the first stage of which is the creation of a symphonic musical work in homage to Jean Paul Riopelle, whose centenary of his birth will be celebrated in 2023. The work, composed by Serge Fiori and arranged by Torontonian Blair Thompson, will be recorded in June with the Orchester symphonique de Montréal and the album will be officially released in November. A first series of three multimedia shows with the OSM is also scheduled at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts as part of the Montréal en lumière festival next February. The visual design and staging of the concert were entrusted to Gabriel Poirier-Galarneau.
