"LA MARCHE," a Short Film by Yoakim Bélanger, to Have Its U.S. Premiere at Palm Springs ShortFest

Travelling and Coop Vidéo de Montréal are proud to announce the U.S. premiere of La Marche, a film written, directed, and produced by multidisciplinary artist Yoakim Bélanger. This animated short, entirely hand-painted using India ink and pencils at a rate of six frames per second, took five years to create. It depicts women of all ages emerging from the shadows and walking together toward a luminous source.

A powerful and striking film, La Marche is both a tribute to the feminist movement and a celebration of feminine strength. It will be screened at the 27th edition of the Palm Springs ShortFest, a prestigious short film festival in California, running until June 28.

The film had its world premiere at the Encounters Int. Short and Animation Film Festival in Bristol (UK) before being presented at the Mecal Int. Short Film Festival in Barcelona, where it won the Grand Prize for Best Short Film in the Oblique category, dedicated to unconventional animated works. La Marche has also been screened in Quebec at the Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montreal and the REGARD Festival in Saguenay. In early July, the film will be shown in New Zealand at the Show Me Shorts festival.
