Les Luniphantesques is a site-specific work by artist Dominic Besner, whose playful composition will appeal to young and old alike. To realize his artistic intervention, Dominic Besner chose to use the technique of anamorphosis, which consists of transforming an image that at first glance is unrecognizable, but whose initial figure is restored when observed from a unique angle and in a specific position. Often, the eye is directed through a viewfinder, telescope or mirror. In Morgan Park, you can see the entire creation through the telescope installed at the southeast end of the park. The work is ephemeral because of the medium used on the trees, which is a 100% natural, ecological and biodegradable milk paint. It will disappear gradually according to the whims of Mother Nature.
The creation of this public work was made possible thanks to the support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
