Biography

Ermilo Espinosa Artist - Represented by Galerie LeRoyer

Ermilo Espinosa is a visual artist who specializes in painting, with great interest in technique and in the poetic and philosophical aspects of his work. He attained a Bachelor of Visual Arts with an orientation in painting from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico; he has also taken courses in the Yucatan Fine Arts State Center and at the Cabañas Cultural Center in Guadalajara. His encounter with visual arts started at the very roots of his childhood, due to the influence of his grandfather, a renowned Yucatecan artist, who acted as his main teacher.

Influenced by the masterful portrayals of Maestro Torre Gamboa, the synergy of a group of young creators from Guadalajara and the admiration for artists such as Arturo Rivera, Sandorfi, Saudek and Gottfried Helnwein, Espinosa Torre has always sought to achieve technical mastery and strong intuitive communication with the viewer.

His artistic projects have allowed him to study in person the work of great masters in some of the best museums in the world, as well as the avant-garde proposals of the most recognized international fairs and biennials.

Ermilo Espinosa has been in several solo exhibitions, highlighting Visiones en Silencio (Casa Oswaldo Guayasamín. Havana, Cuba. July 2007), Murmullos en Babel (Centro Cultural de Mérida Olimpo. Merida, Yucatan. Mexico. July 2008) Ausencias y Presencias (Museo José Luis Cuevas. Mexico City. Mexico. November 2012), MUTE (Museo Casa Diego Rivera. Guanajuato, Gto. Mexico.
