Anke Eilergerhard uses silicone sculptures in icing to not only arouse our desire for calories but our interest and curiosity. The perfect execution with numerous, superposed "silicone cream hoods" gives the objects a highly associative surface, and their interplay with dimensions gives her works a monumental character. Anke Eilergerhard sculpts since 2004 with silicone and uses some everyday household objects, food or developed independent sculptural forms, their origin she describes as spiritual artifacts of our time. Eilergerhard says, "The detail of the whipped cream for me is the perfect shape and a piece of heaven on earth," describing her silicone sculptures. With success, she recently won the art silicone Tempelhof-Schönberger-Berlin Art Prize.
